This basically duplicates my Facebook post of May 10th. I took all of these photos with my upgraded Galaxy 23 mobile phone.
On May 9th, the incredible “It’s Time” Peace Summit, backed by 60 Israeli and Palestinian peace organizations, was held in an all-day conference at Jerusalem’s International Convention Center. Some people claim that you can put all the Israeli peace activists in a telephone booth. Well, the 5,000 activists who packed the buidling and the tens of thousands who connected via social media prove otherwise. Here are some photos highlighting the event:
1) The Ussishkin Hall was filled to its 3,000 capacity (pictured above), with 5,000 in attendance overall.
2) The opening featured spokespeople from all sectors of society who are calling for an end to the war and Israeli-Palestinian peace. The crowd went wild when 87 year old actress Rivka Michaeli introduced herself as a representative of Artists for the End of the War. Prof. David Harel also spoke as President of the Israeli Academy of Arts and Scientists, among many others:

3) President Macron announced the forthcoming French-Saudi conference in the framework of “The Global Alliance for a Two-State Solution”:

4) President Abbas, despite Netanyahu claiming that the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) is for “the destruction of Israel,” declared that it is for two states, peace and non-violence:

5) The Democrats party leader Yair Golan (the merger of Labor and Meretz) announced that peace as a goal has to be returned to the Israeli agenda:

6) Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert (in person) and former Palestinian Foreign Minister Dr. Nasser AlKidwa (via Zoom from Ramallah) spoke about their joint initiative to end the war and resolve the conflict:

7) Yinon Maoz (whose parents were killed on October 7th) and Aziz Abu Sarah spoke about their meeting with Pope Francis and the need to end the war and achieve peace:
